We occupy the ancestral home of the Suquamish Tribe. We are honored when tribal members participate and teach at BARN, and hope to continue building a relationship of peace and support. Our Facility
Designed by renowned local architect Johnpaul Jones, BARN’s 25,000-square-foot facility celebrates and facilitates creativity. It includes 10 studios, a large event room, and a commons area. The design incorporates natural light, geothermal heat, and many other sustainable elements.
BARN’s facility creates an environment where makers from many different disciplines can come together to learn from each other and share ideas. Learn more »
History
The idea for BARN was sparked in 2012 when a group of woodworkers, fiber artists, and other makers discovered they shared a common goal of finding a home for makers and artisans. Learn more »

Visit BARN
You’re welcome to visit BARN any day during open hours. We also offer free guided tours between 1 and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Learn more »
Youth at BARN
All BARN classes are open to youth of high school age and up. BARN also offers summer and after-school programs for teens and tweens. Learn more »

Our Companion Program offers individuals with physical, sensory, cognitive, and social-emotional challenges a companion who can assist them at BARN events. Learn more »
